Awards for Math Olympics and Creative Writing
Every year the ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) holds their regional competition of Math Olympics and a Creative Writing Festival. Thirty-five students from Konocti Christian Academy competed with others from Christian schools in the California/Hawaii Region. KCA is pleased to report that the following students earned awards:
MATH OLYMPICS:
Computation - Nathaniel Knolle (4th grade) - Second Place
Erik Sombs (5th grade) – Third Place
Reasoning - Luke Del Bosco (4th grade) - First Place & Medal of Excellence
CREATIVE WRITING FESTIVAL:
Short Story - Luke Del Bosco (4th grade) – Red Ribbon/"Excellent"
Annalee Hadgis (5th grade) – Red Ribbon/"Excellent"
David Irwin (5th grade) - Red Ribbon/"Excellent"
Silas Reese (6th grade) – White Ribbon/”Good”
Nicholas Del Bosco (7th grade) – Blue Ribbon/”Superior”
Kaelyn Jeffries (7th grade) – Red Ribbon/"Excellent"
David Wilkes (7th grade) – Blue Ribbon/”Superior”
Lilly Wiser (7th grade) – Red Ribbon/"Excellent"
Megan Call (8th grade) – Blue Ribbon/”Superior”
Nadine Mahlen (8th grade) - Blue Ribbon/”Superior”

Poem - Jonny Smith (5th grade) - Red Ribbon/"Excellent"
The short story written by David Wilkes was also chosen to be published in the ACSI-California/Hawaii publication of “Superior Writing.”
